How to hang your Hammock

Hanging Instructions
All our hammocks are made of cotton and so will stretch a little with use. Bearing this in mind, it is better to initially have too big a gap between fixing points than too small.
Our Brasilian double hammocks are large and the Ceara, Bossa Nova, Rio and Iracema will need a hanging stretch of approximately 4 metres (13 ft) length and 1.6 metres (5ft 6") height. The middle of your hammock should be about top-of-the-leg height.

Rope
The sisal rope we sell is a natural fibre and cannot be burnt to seal the ends as in nylon. We suggest you tape any cut ends to stop it unravelling. If using trees as anchoring points you can leave the rope and 'S' hooks permanently tied on so you can just clip up your hammock at will. Remember to test any knots carefully before jumping into your hammock!

Screw-on hooks
Our hooks are supplied without screws as only you know what type of surface you will be attaching them to and therefore what size screws will be needed. Check your anchoring points regularly.

Getting in and out
To get into your hammock, stand with your back to it holding the hammock open and gently sit down. You can then swing your legs up. Brasilian hammocks are normally lain in diagonally, which 'opens' them out but you will soon find the position that is most comfortable for you! To get out, reverse this process, swinging your legs out and standing up.
